How do I find my correct size for online shopping?

One of the most common reasons clothes are returned after buying online is choosing the wrong size. The problem is that a size M in one store can equal an L in another, because every brand uses its own size chart. This guide shows you how to measure your body accurately and how to turn your measurements into the right size in any store.

Garment Measurement Guide: where to measure each piece of clothing

1. The measurements you need

All you need is a cloth measuring tape and a mirror. Record the numbers in centimetres. Tap any measurement to see an illustration and the correct steps.

Before you start
  • Measure without shoes, wearing light, close-fitting clothes.
  • Don't measure yourself alone — ask someone to help for better accuracy.
  • Keep the tape snug without squeezing the skin, and always level for circumferences.
  • Stand straight and relaxed, and read the tape after a normal exhale.

3. Let SizeUp work out your size

Instead of memorising all these charts, enter your measurements once in SizeUp and the system converts them automatically into the right size for every supported store — and saves them in your digital wardrobe for later. See the supported stores or learn how it works step by step.
